Dog Days of Summer

Well, it's not really summer yet, but a couple of weekends ago we got a pretty good taste of the heat in Fremont. Mid 90's is pretty warm for the Bar Area since a typical summer pattern includes a nice marine layer that cools everything down in the evening. With the hot weather we had our first really good swim at the pool. We were almost obligated to do it just to help cool down before going to bed in rooms measuring about 90 degrees at 8pm. Anything to help the kids cool down and be somewhat comfortable to go to sleep.

2006 was the summer of the worst heat waves we have had since moving here in 2004. Two weeks of 90-100 degree temperatures. Fremont hit a record of 110 and our bedrooms were 98 when I was putting the kids to bed. Needless to say, we spent the next night at Robyn and Lance's house, who have air conditioning. Let's hope we don't see many of those heat waves anytime soon.

2008 - What a great year!

We saw many changes during 2008 as we enjoyed the journey of life.

Kelly joined our family on June 20th and has been a cute little button even without much hair. We're blessed and grateful to have her in the family and enjoy that she can sleep through most nights.

Emily turned 3 and started a preschool with Mommy. She loves being independent and playing with anything she can get her hands on.

Shannon turned 5 in March and started kindergarten. She has overcome some of her shyness and made some good friends and loves learning and playing at school.

LeeAnn continued raising 3 kids and keeping busy enough that it's hard to even keep track of her and the girls.

Ryan left work with KPMG and joined Dolby Laboratories in the revenue department. He enjoys more time off and being home with the family but is still waiting for Dolby to install surround sound in his cube. :)

We hope you all enjoy this special time of year and remember the true reason for which we celebrate the season. Take a few minutes to watch the video below that Ryan put together and have a very Merry Christmas!
